Senior System Admin Specialist

Job Purpose:responsible for managing and maintaining the hospital’s IT infrastructure, focusing on the reliability, availability, security, and performance of server environments, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and system services. The role ensures critical healthcare applications and IT services operate efficiently while adhering to healthcare regulations and industry best practices.Roles and Responsibilities: • Ensure work is performed based on approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading practices, cost reduction and productivity improvement • Ensure day-to-day activities are properly performed in line with policies and procedures • Follow-up on escalated cases/issues of subordinates to ensure they are closed efficiently and in a timely manner. Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows and/or Linux server environments, ensuring optimal system performance. Manage Active Directory, group policies, domain services, and system access controls. Oversee file services, print services, and hospital-specific application server environments. Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), ensuring effective resource utilization and system scalability. Administer SAN/NAS storage systems, performing regular health checks, maintenance, and capacity planning. Ensure backup systems are configured, tested, and meet recovery objectives (RTO/RPO). Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing exercises to safeguard critical hospital data and services. Implement server and system security controls, patch management, and hardening standards in alignment with NCA cybersecurity frameworks. Regularly audit system access, perform log reviews, and maintain documentation for compliance purposes. Provide expert-level troubleshooting for server and infrastructure-related incidents.Investigate root causes of recurring issues and propose permanent solutions to improve infrastructure reliability. Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and infrastructure diagrams. Recommend and implement improvements to optimize system performance, reduce downtime, and enhance IT operational efficiency. • Project leadership responsibilities in infrastructure upgrades Knowledge and Experience:5–7 years of experience in systems administration roles, preferably in healthcare environments. Advanced knowledge of hospital IT infrastructure components (servers, storage, and virtualization). Practical experience with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policies), Linux OS, and backup solutions. Working knowledge of healthcare IT systems (EMR, HIS) is preferred. Familiarity with regulatory standards such as MOH, CBAHI, JCI, NCA, and SFDA.Education and Certifications:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.Skills: Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Proficiency in server infrastructure, virtualization, and storage management Strong documentation and reporting capabilities Awareness of cybersecurity best practices and data protection policies Ability to work under pressure and manage incidents in healthcare environments Good communication skills in Arabic and English IT certifications preferred (MCSE, RHCE, VMware VCP, ITIL Foundation)Attitude: Strong Work Ethic Dependability and Responsibility Possessing a Positive Attitude Adaptability Honesty and Integrity
